We strive to support your efforts as educators in every way
possible. Here are ways that you can help the Writing Support enhance our
services for your student writers:
Send us your students! Introduce your students to CTAS Writing Support at the beginning of the semester. Even students who have
completed English 101 may not be familiar with our services. You can
distribute our flyers, arrange an In-Center
Class Visit, request a tutor to come for a
Classroom Presentation, link to our website on
your course homepage, and include Writing Support statements on your
syllabus.
Notify us if you are requiring your students to visit. If your
students are required to work with a tutor at CTAS Writing Support for an
assignment, please e-mail Joe
Labozzetta (jlabozzetta@qcc.cuny.edu) in advance, and provide your
assignment details. It is important that we know ahead of time. Please also
require that your students come at least 2 days before the assignment is due,
so they can learn from the session and make thoughtful changes after meeting
with the tutor.
Please note:
Canceling class and sending students to CTAS Writing Support is not recommended,
because we cannot guarantee adequate staffing for a sudden surge in students,
and it takes away resources from other students who come for tutoring at that
time. If you wish to bring your entire class to CTAS Writing Support, please
arrange an In-Center Class Visit.
Send us your assignments! It is very helpful for us to have a
copy of your writing assignments on file, in case your students do not remember
to bring them when they come for tutoring. Please send your writing assignments
to Joe Labozzetta (jlabozzetta@qcc.cuny.edu)
, for our records.
Contact us with questions and suggestions. Please let us know
if you have questions about any of our services, or suggestions for additional
resources we could provide for you and your students. You can reach us at
718-631-6663 or e-mail
Joe Labozzetta (jlabozzetta@qcc.cuny.edu).
We also invite you to stop by CTAS Writing Support in room L-113
to meet us and explore our services.
