What does CTAS Writing Support offer BE students?
CTAS Writing Support now provides the writing tutors and other academic support for
students taking BE courses.
When is CTAS Writing Support open to BE students? Where are you
located?
Our new tutoring hours are 9 AM
- 8 PM, Monday through Thursday, 9 AM - 5 PM Friday, and 10 AM
- 3 PM Saturday. We are located on the first floor of the Library
Building, L-113.
Do I need an appointment?
No appointments are needed! Tutors are now available on a walk-in basis, so you
may come any time we are open. However, please note that you will need to stay
for the entire 50-minute session if you need to fulfill a required tutoring
hour.
Is there a fee for tutoring?
Not at all! All of our tutoring and support services for BE students are free.
Are computers available for my tutoring session?
Yes, we now have laptops available for students to use during a tutoring
session. These are useful for making changes to your paper draft (if it is
saved online or to a flash drive), conducting internet research with a tutor,
and other academic needs.
Does Conversation Hour count for required tutoring hours?
Ask your instructor. Some professors allow students to count these special services toward lab hours, but some do not.
Who are the tutors?
Our friendly tutors come from diverse educational backgrounds. BE tutors are
trained to assist all students in improving their reading and writing skills.
