CUNY & CWC Writing Workshop policy:
Preparing you successfully for the CUNY Assessment Test in Writing (CATW) is something we take seriously. We know you do, too! CUNY requires that to re-take the Writing test you must attend and completea remedial Writingworkshop or course. Our workshops are FREE – at no cost to you! They run a total of 24 hours over 6 days and you are expected tobe in attendance at all times the workshop is in session. So, please check your personal, work and class schedules carefully to avoid a conflict with your workshop! Passing the exam is the mutual goal of your workshop experience. We know you agree!
If you're "pre-registered" in courses like EN-101, BI-301, HI-112 or any others for which a PASS in both Reading AND Writing is REQUIRED you cannot take those courses unless you have passed BOTH exams. For example, you cannot take EN-101 in FALL unless you have already passed the CATW. You cannot take EN-101 at the same time as you take the workshop unless you are in an EN-101 ALP section.
So, if you haven't passed the CATW by the beginning of the Fall semester you cannot take courses for which it's required.
